Lovey Dovey Day
I’m not a big believer in Valentine’s Day.  I usually just hand out hugs and cookies, but it doesn’t get much deeper than that.  All of the marketing and advertising that goes into Valentine’s Day drives me a little nuts, so I try not to “buy” into it.  I thought it was just the U.S. that was V day crazy, but boy was I wrong.  Here at Anubanchonburi everyone...

Top Ten Positive Changes I’m Making…
1.     Yoga on the regular.  Everyone who has taken a yoga class knows how damn good it makes you feel.  Usually the first class kicks your ass and you leave wondering if you could possibly survive another one and then you go back a day or two later and class is ten times easier.  You can see and feel improvements with every move.  I recently started p90x and my first yoga class was extreme.  I...

Top Ten Things I want to do in the U.S.A.
1.     Take a long road trip out west.  I really want to see the Grand Canyon.  I’ve been saying it for years, but I’ve never made the journey.  I think it’s time now.  I’ve only been as far west as Minnesota, so I have a lot of exploring to do.  Hopefully I can convince some of my family members to make the trip with me to increase the fun and decrease the cost. 2.     Rock climb on the regular. ...

Top Ten Things I Remember Right Now
I love how a smell, song or simple thought can transport you back in time to what seemed like a long lost memory.  Think about it, we know and remember so much, but most of the time that information isn’t being accessed, it’s just up there.  If you tried to think really hard about your past year you probably can’t remember all the awesome times you had, but in the future when you’re driving in...

Top Ten Things I Miss Right Now
Besides from the obvious i.e. family and friends, there are a few things I miss a lot right now.  This isn’t a list of complaints merely a compilation of things I’d rather not live without for so long. Here goes: 1.     Food! You and I both knew this day was coming; well it’s finally here.  Thai food has been taking a toll on me.  While everyone else is losing weight, I’m gaining what Lonely...

Top Ten Things I Love Right Now
I’m in Bangkok for the weekend, which means I’m away from my hard drive that holds all my photos so instead of updating you about my traveling adventures I’m going to share a couple Top Ten lists.  This is only part one of five, so stay tuned to read about other Top Ten topics.  Top Ten things I love right now: 1.     The cool breezy mornings and evenings.  Right now it’s winter in Thailand.  If...

Valuable: [val-yoo-uh-buhl, -yuh-buhl] adjective of considerable use, service, or importance: valuable information. What I feel when Thai teachers ask me to spell or say words that they’re having trouble with.   Loved: [luhvd] adjective held in deep affection; cherished: loved companions; much-loved friends. How I feel after song time with my Kindergarteners when they all storm me at once for a...

Today I went to an aerobics dance class called Body Jam, at the local gym.  If you know me, you know I’m not known for my dancing skills.  Last summer at my sister’s wedding I danced with my Pop, which is probably one of my favorite memories of us, but anyway when we were dancing I realized whom I inherited my two left feet from.  We were quite the pair.  I blame my dancing phobia on my childhood;...

I think of myself as a pretty open person.  Not in the respect that I share my thoughts and feelings, but in that I try to explore different places, meet all types of people and try new things.   It’s really easy to do all of this when you’re far away from home.  Every time I step outside my apartment a new face, place or activity is waiting for me.  It could be as simple as riding on a new form...
